What us a Reiki Quest

Hi, I'm Grace Friel, a Reiki Master Teacher, President of the Reiki Teaching Institute, and one of the guides of the Reiki Quest. I’m going to give you the short and long answers to the question, “What is a Reiki Quest? And if this resonates with you, I invite you to learn more and connect with us at http://www.ReikiQuest.org.

So, what is a Reiki Quest? The short answer is that a Reiki Quest is a 9-day ceremony to align your body, mind, and soul to help you get grounded in who you really are, to fly away from earthly expectations, and ultimately to find yourself again. We use the short hand that a Reiki Quest is to help you get grounded, fly away, and find yourself again.

A Reiki Quest incorporates many traditions and ceremonies, all of course infused with Reiki. The ceremonies you'll experience include:

-Cleansing your body, mind, and soul with a sweat lodge ceremony -Connecting to your creative consciousness with labyrinth walking -Engaging the unique flow of your life through the gentle swimming of a water ceremony -Retrieving and integrating parts of yourself left behind from traumatic experiences through Reiki shamanic drumming -Expressing new or emerging parts of yourself through ceremonial dancing -Igniting forgiveness and passion through a fire ceremony -Finding yourself, by yourself, the Three-Day Solo. -And much more

So that's the short answer. As I said at the beginning, I'm also going to give you a little bit longer answer to the question, what is a Reiki Quest. A Reiki Quest is a sacred period of ritual, prayer, meditation, and contemplation, infused with Reiki, and undertaken for 9 days as you're removed from the distractions of your everyday life. Led by two experienced guides, you'll use this time to honor a rite of passage in your life.

Rites of passage mark the end of one phase and the beginning of another. So, a Reiki Quest would not just be about mourning a loss, nor would it just be about setting off on a fun adventure. A Reiki Quest is about being in the here and now, honoring the ebb and flow of your life, and helping you to connect to Reiki as you walk a path into the wondrous, sometimes scary, but always necessary terrain of new beginnings.

Like the Native American tradition of a vision quest, on a Reiki Quest you create sacred space in which you invite intuitive or Divine guidance to help you express your unique gifts in ways that honor you and benefit your community. For most of us, we don't have epiphanies in line at the grocery store. But by separating from the distractions of your daily life, and connecting to Reiki, you can create sacred space for peace, intuition, and guidance.

Now, there are many things you might honor as your rite of passage on a Reiki Quest and here are just a few examples:

-You might honor the end of your professional career and the beginning of your vocation. -You might honor the end of a relationship and the beginning of your life as a single person. -You might honor the end of your youth and the beginning of adulthood. -You might honor the deep yearning in your heart for greater meaning in your life and your courage as you explore new paths to nourish your soul.

These are just a few of the many ways a Reiki Quest can honor and support the passage of time and expand your openness to all that is. We'd love to talk to you more about how the Reiki Quest can honor you and feed your soul.

One last thought I wanted to share is that we guide the Reiki Quest with the intention that we are guides, facilitators and channels for Reiki, ceremony, and sacred time to open you up to Divine inspiration. It is not our role to heal you, judge you, impose beliefs on you, or tell you what you should do, but to guide you and be your witness as you find a new path for yourself.
